10/10/08, 8:06 PM: Broken microphone made me look like an idiot on the Parade Square,
The microphone system HAD to be faulty on the day I HAD to agree to be the announcer for the day. Assembly was held in the PARADE SQUARE. OPEN AIR. I had to shout the morning assembly commands to the entire school. Thank goodness there weren't any announcements. I imagine myself shouting announcements from the announcement list and I almost want to laugh, but then I remember it was me shouting and not somebody else. Former-Form Teacher Mr. Tan said that I looked very shocked, and that my mouth was wide open. I don't remember my mouth being opened thought, maybe unconciously having your mouth open is part and parcel of nearly wetting your pants from fear/anxiety/shock. What I do remember was that my knees were shakeing uncontrollably, really uncontrollably, while singing the national anthem. I asked Ziyad and Azmi if they could see my knees jerking back and forth like some nutcase who needs to pee, and they said that they didn't see my shakeing, and that I was cool! Or maybe it they said that seeing the whole school following the shouted commands was cool, but me being cool is nicer to remember.
